S/V Blown Away was purchased November 19, 2020 in St. Lucia from Moorings/Sunsail, concluding a seven month search that began while we were still working in China. A series of events convinced us to pursue our dream of sailing around the world a year earlier than previously planned.

Initially, we wanted to purchase a brand new Leopard 40 but with all of the options, it would have cost $575K for the purchase. We liked Leopards because of their helm position and blue water sailing heritage, and then the stock market plunged, making us rethink our situation. "Pay less and go now" was our new mantra so we started searching the Leopard Catamaran Brokerage site for used catamarans.
